After over seventeen years as a practicing attorney, Kristin has decided to run for Superior Court Judge in Orange County. Kristin seeks to apply her legal knowledge, passion for the safety of her community and strong moral and ethical values to this very important position. Having worked within the courts for so long and having tried over 125 trials, Kristin is capable of running a courtroom and collaborating with court staff. Kristin has an upbeat personality and will assuredly make all who enter her courtroom feel welcome and heard. Kristin is decisive, thoughtful and open-minded. With her stellar reputation and vast experience, she will be a valued addition to the Orange County Superior Court.
Kristin Bracic is an Orange County native, having lived in Anaheim the bulk of her life. She currently lives in South Orange County with her husband, Demir, and their three children. Kristin graduated from New York University with a double major in Psychology and Philosophy. She returned to Orange County thereafter to attend and graduate from Whittier College School of Law in Costa Mesa. In addition to her Juris Doctorate, she obtained a specialized certification in Criminal Law and participated in Moot Court and Trial Advocacy. With these skills, she has been a practicing attorney for over seventeen years. Kristin has deep roots in Orange County and spends much of her time contributing to the community and people herein. She actively participates in many youth organizations, veteran organizations, and programs to feed the hungry. Kristin is passionate about the safety of the neighborhoods in which we live and will do anything to keep her neighbors protected. If elected, she vows to perform the duties of a Superior Court Judge with compassion, integrity and honesty.
Kristin Bracic began her career working in civil litigation in the realm of employment law. She quickly transitioned to her true passion in criminal law. Kristin is currently a Senior Deputy District Attorney. She has been employed at the Orange County District Attorney's Office for over 16 1/2 years. During this time, she has tried over 125 trials. Like all new deputies, Kristin tried misdemeanor cases like driving under the influence, domestic violence and petty theft. Kristin soon elevated to the Felony Panel during which she tried aggravated assaults, robberies, burglaries, attempted murders and drug sales. Kristin promoted from Felony Panel to the Sexual Assault Unit where she tried gruesome assaults against both adults and children. Kristin then transferred to the Gang Unit, working on homicides, gang conspiracies, and complex gang prosecutions. Kristin currently works on post-conviction homicide cases in the Post-Conviction Special Litigation Unit. Throughout every assignment, Kristin brings dedication, perseverance and the highest ethical standards.
Kristin Bracic enjoys engaging with the Orange County community. Since its inception, Kristin has participated in GRIP (the Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership), speaking to elementary school students about the dangers of joining a gang, using drugs, bullying and other social issues. Kristin also participates in Orange Outreach to help serve the underprivileged youth of our county. In addition, Kristin has been working for years as a high school mock trial judge, scorer and/or coach, coaching at JSerra High School and Santa Ana High School. She currently sits on the Board of the Law Magnet Program at JSerra High School. Her favorite activity, however, is introducing young children to law enforcement to build those relationships from a young age.
